Censorious Thoughts

I came across this post and after looking up what censorious meant was really convicted by the heart-attitudes I see in myself that could be rooted in pride. Check it out - there are multiple parts - I've just read the first and am lead to pray before I move on.

Hugh Hewitt is looking for a few Christian College Students

I just saw this on Hugh Hewitt's web site. Hugh has written some good books that I've read (The Embarrassed Believer, In but not Of) and he's looking for some beta testers for a new web site just for guys (and girls) like you. Check it out and sign up if you want:

Special Time to Seek the Lord

I want to remind and invite you to our special time to seek the Lord tonight. I believe that God want to take each of us to the next step, both individually and as a group. Whenever God is about to move, he calls his people to "Prepare the Way of the Lord!" Well, that's what we're going to do tonight.

Hosea 10:12 says:

Sow for yourselves righteousness;
reap steadfast love;
break up your fallow ground,
for it is the time to seek the Lord,
that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.

We're going to meet for a time to seek the Lord in prayer, worship and sharing tonight. I am asking all of you to come and see what God has in store.

We have studied the book of James for the past few weeks. If God has lead you to a specific point in the book, please come and share what that is and how it has affected you. Perhaps you already have something exciting that He's done in your life in response to this, which would be an encouragement for others to hear.

I am excited to see what God has in store for us, so please pray for tonight and then come and see what God does among us!

Hiking at Harriman State Park

We took a hike upstate this past Sunday - had a great time and incredible weather. We planned to hit the Lemon Squeezer, but it's been a while since I've been there and somehow we missed it. Once I realized that we were past it, we hiked up some elevation and then bushwacked off the trail to find a spot of bare rocks. There were incredible views from the top!

Eventually, after crossing a bog that some unnamed people fell into, we found a trail that lead us in the direction to our original destination.

It must have been something in the air that caused Liz and Katie to become Thistle People. Anyway, we followed them and we eventually found our way to the Lemon Squeezer.

This was a cool rock formation that we hiked up between two cliffs. All in all it was a great day to enjoy God's creation, and some great times with the group.

Whoops!

Well it's been many weeks since I posted anything to this blog. Many good things are happening, I guess I'm still getting used to this online journal thing! From what I read, this is a common thing for bloggers to stop for a while and then restart again.

Anyway, I'm back online and let's see if I can get back to writing more often!

Passion 06 is now on!

Hey, let's remember to pray for Anna, Noelle, and Jen from our group and the 18,000 other college students who are in Nashville right now attending Passion 06. Having been there last year, it was a great time with God and His people, and this year should be even better. Check out what's happening on their blog:
